The "Sticky" Bun
|
The Buns
We offer a section on "The Buns" because these delicious, buttery comfort food pastries are quickly becoming legend. They are blogged about on well-known magazine websites and talked about with enthusiasm in our restaurant.
From Down East's Maine Food News blog (September 2009):
There's nothing much better than a sticky bun in the morningor really any time of day. And you'll have a hard time finding a sweeter one than the pastry served at Home Kitchen Café (650 Main St., 207-596-2449) in Rockland. The breakfast and lunch joint features delectable buns, with or without nuts, that are buttery blocks of sugar and spice. At nearly four bucks a piece (and worth every penny), these buns make a great appetizer to split, or a veritable meal for one.

The "Sinny" Cinnamon Bun
|
The "Sticky" features pecans covered with a delectably gooey glaze. The "Sinny" (so good it's sinful!) cinnamon bun is covered with melt-in-your-mouth icing.
Both are crafted, by hand, by James's Dad, using real butter, milk, yeast, and other tasty ingredients. Buns arrive fresh at Home Kitchen Café Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Special orders are welcome. The buns make great gifts for any event. Great for the holidays.
