We opened the doors of Home Kitchen Cafe in February 2009.

Many folks thought we were "crazy," "foolish," "out of our minds."

It was in middle of winter in midcoast Maine.

No tourists (a mainstay of our area)—only locals, who were tired of snow. Plus, as we were often reminded, there's a recession!

We know, folks gotta eat. And folks like to eat good food. Here at Home Kitchen our goal is to serve good, fresh, hearty, satisfying food, all made on the premises. Flavor is our friend, and your enjoyment is our reward.

We use local and seasonal ingredients. These include, seafood, eggs, sauerkraut, various veggies, cheeses and more. Our coffee is locally roasted and is so good that folks continually ask "what brand is this"?

We want to say thanks to all who have supported us through our first year. We are very appreciative of business from our regulars and those stopping in for the first time.

If you're ever meandering down Rt. 1 in Rockland, Maine, remember when you're hungry... come HOME.
